The Scary Bush
<< I wonder if Valentines is an apt time for something scary. (Now ain’t that the greatest ironic line you’ve ever heard? LOL.)
No, don’t worry, dude. I’m not talking ’bout George Dubya. We went to Al Ain last 02/01/06, over at Jebel Hafeet. And I know this ain’t a picture blog, but I just couldn’t resist.
Crop squares. Haha! Get it? No? Bah!
Yeah, ok, I know that you really don’t see anything except for my face, but I don’t care, I look so innocent there. Very rare…
Ok, so enough gawking at purdee pictures and on to my story… So, there we were at the Mercure Hotel at Jebel Hafeet, after kicking ourselves for not bringing any extra clothes so that we could have stayed overnight, instead of just having coffee by the pool. As we were walking through the garden on our way out, I noticed this really big bush right by the pool entrance. What was so interesting about it was that it had this red streak right in the middle of it. And so, being the camera-whore that I am, I just had to stop and take pictures of it.
I’m guessing that the bush was a teenage punk trying to stand out (or fit in) by having funky highlights…
As I was zooming in on the red streak, I heard something that chills me to this very day… It was the sound of a giggling gremlin. I’m not kidding. My instincts told me to shriek like a little girl and run inside the hotel… And that’s what I did. So whether it really was a gremlin being tickled pink, or a squirrel, a rat, or maybe even the Easter Bunny and Cupid playing hide and seek, I’ll never know. But no matter how frightening those few seconds were, it still cannot compare to the impending doom that awaits all of us tomorrow… Dun-dun-dun.
Now, that’s scary.

Happy Valentines, babies!
